Help & Downloads

Help & Downloads

Everything at Maker Pixel is a digital download. Nothing physical is posted, so you can start creating as soon as your payment goes through. Here's how to find, open and use your files.

Getting your download

Where is my download link?

Your files are ready as soon as your payment is confirmed. You'll find them in three places:

  1. Order confirmation page. Right after checkout, the thank-you page shows a Download button for each product.
  2. Order confirmation email. We email you a download link for each product. Keep this email safe so you can download again later.
  3. Your account. Sign in with the email address you ordered with, then go to My Downloads, or open Account > Orders and choose your order.
I haven't received my email or download
  • Check your spam, junk or promotions folder for an email from Maker Pixel.
  • Some payment methods take a little longer to confirm. Your links are released once the payment clears.
  • Make sure you're signed in with the same email address you used at checkout.
  • Still can't find it? Email hello@makerpixel.com or use our contact form with your order number and we'll sort it out.
Can I download my files again?

Yes. Sign in and go to My Downloads, or use the link in your order confirmation email.

Do I need an account?

No, you can check out as a guest and use the links in your confirmation email. If you sign in with the same email address, all your orders and downloads are in one place.

Opening your files

How do I unzip my files?

Most products come as one ZIP file. Unzip it first, then open the files inside.

  • Windows: right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All.
  • Mac: double-click the ZIP and a folder with your files appears next to it.
  • iPhone / iPad: save the ZIP to the Files app, then tap it to unzip.
  • Android: open the ZIP with the Files by Google app and tap Extract.
What file types will I get?

Each product page lists exactly what's included, including the file type and how many files are in the pack.

  • PNG: high-resolution images, often with a transparent background (great for clipart and overlays). Open in any photo viewer or design app.
  • JPG: high-resolution images for papers, backdrops and art. Open in any photo viewer or design app.
  • SVG: scalable designs for cutting machines and design software. Upload them to your cutting machine's design app or open them in your vector design software.
  • PDF: print-ready files. Open in your web browser or a free PDF reader.
  • Animated backgrounds: video files that play in your usual video player or editing app.
How do I open a Canva template?

Canva templates come as a Canva link rather than a file to unzip. Click the link while signed in to your Canva account and choose Use template. Canva makes your own copy to edit, so the original stays untouched.

Printing tips

Print at 100% / "actual size" and turn off "fit to page" so the sizing stays correct. Matte or cardstock paper gives the best results for journal pages. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen, printer, paper and printer settings.

Using your files

Can I use the files commercially?

Yes. Every purchase, including free samples, comes with personal and commercial use. You can use the designs in anything you make, for yourself, for clients or to sell, with no limit on quantity. That includes journals, scrapbooks, cards, stickers, prints, crafts, photography, artwork, social media and marketing.

What can't I do with the files?

You can't resell, share, give away or redistribute the files themselves, either as they are or as part of a collection of files (for example a digital bundle, kit, printable pack, template, brush set or stock image library), free or paid. You also can't claim the original designs as your own. Copyright in the files stays with Maker Pixel.

Full details are on our Licence Information page and in our Terms of Service. Not sure if your project is covered? Ask us.

All-Access Membership

What is the All-Access Membership?

If you'd rather not buy designs one at a time, the All-Access Membership gives you every download in the Maker Pixel shop for one monthly price, plus new designs every week. The same commercial licence applies to everything you download as a member.

How do I manage or cancel my membership?

You can cancel any time yourself. Sign in, go to Account > Subscriptions, open your membership and choose to cancel. Cancel before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the next month. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, and there are no cancellation fees.

Anything you downloaded while you were a member is yours to keep using. See our Cancellation policy.

Refunds for digital items

Can I get a refund?

Because our products are instant digital downloads, we don't offer refunds for change of mind. Under UK law, when you agree to immediate access to digital content, the 14-day cancellation right ends once the download is made available to you.

  • Faulty or broken files (corrupted, incomplete or not as described) are always fixed or replaced, with no time limit. If we can't fix or replace a file, we'll refund it.
  • Accidental duplicate purchases of the same product are refunded. Just send us both order numbers.
  • Membership payments for periods that have already started aren't refundable, except where the law requires it. If you're charged after cancelling, we'll refund it.

Approved refunds are processed within 3 business days and go back to your original payment method. Your statutory rights are not affected. Full details: Refund policy.
